CAPABILITY & EXPERIENCE

Paul combines 50 years of management, consulting, training, and dispute resolution experience, with current international knowledge and specialist dispute resolution training.

In terms of mediation & dispute resolution, Paul’s particular expertise is in resolving commercial and contract disputes, complex technical disagreements, inter-personal & workplace conflicts, family business disagreements & disputes, labour relations conflict, and complex, multi-party disputes. He specialises in complex, high emotion conflict, dispute resolution and consensus building – particularly in community, organisational and workplace conflict.

He has resolved over 2500 disputes and applies the full range of ADR techniques and processes – facilitation, conciliation, mediation, neutral evaluation, arbitration and hybrid techniques.

Paul has taught negotiation, mediation and advanced dispute resolution techniques throughout Australia and New Zealand, and in London, Edinburgh, Brussels, Prague, and Milan. He is regularly invited to speak at Mediation conferences throughout Asia, Europe, and the Pacific – particularly about the impact of neuroscience and neuropsychology on conflict and its resolution.

He is an NMAS Accredited trainer in Australia and was a faculty member and Lead Instructor of the European Mediation Training Program (EMTPJ) in 2012 and 2013.

Paul is also a qualified (PCertArb) and graded Arbitrator (since 2006) specialising in the conciliation and arbitration of employment related disputes.

He is an Advisory Board member of AMATI (UK); a Registered EU Cross-border Mediator (Federal Mediation Commission, Belgium); a Member, European Centre for Dispute Resolution; a former National Councillor of the Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators, Australia (IAMA); the former Chair of IAMA’s National Facilitative Practice Committee; and the former Chair of LEADR’s NSW Chapter.
